Transfer Case

Available part-time four-wheel-drive system allows the vehicle to be shifted into four-wheel-drive "on the fly."

Tow/Haul Mode

An "Overdrive Off" function works in conjunction with the Tow/Haul Feature, locking out the overdrive gear to ensure the vehicle does not shift into overdrive, thereby allowing the driver greater control over the transmission's shifting when towing (automatic transmissions).

Tip Start Ignition

Allows the driver to crank and start the engine by turning the key to start position and then releasing it so the vehicle's electronics system can take over the starting process (included with HEMI® V8 and automatic transmissions on 2500 models only).

Makes the cranking process more predictable and preserves battery and ring gear life by preventing double starts.

Steering Systems

Sentry Key®

Sentry Key® utilizes an electronically coded engine key that incorporates an embedded transponder with a pre-programmed security key code. When the key is inserted into the ignition, the controller sends a random number to the transponder and the engine is allowed to start.

The system prevents the engine from starting when using an invalid or improperly coded key.

Security Alarm

An available integrated vehicle alarm system provides an effective warning that discourages theft and vandalism.

Multistage Air Bags

Air bags deploy during a severe frontal or near frontal impact. A deactivation switch in Regular Cab allows the driver to turn off the front passenger air bags if a child under 12 must ride in the front seat.

Standard on all models, and includes a front passenger on/off switch on Regular Cab models. Certified to federal regulation that allow less forceful front air bags. Always use seat belts. For Regular Cab, children 12 and under should only be in the front seat with the passenger air bag switch turned off, correctly using an infant or child restraint system, or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the child's age and weight. For Quad Cab and Mega Cab, children 12 and under should always be in a back seat correctly using and infant restraint system, or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the chi;d's age and weight.
